Local Capacity 21
Local Capacity 21 is built around the ten Fano guidelines named after the Italian City of Fano where the final conference of the related DISCUS project was held. Covering ten strategic issues, these principles give policy guidance and suggest tangible actions for capacity building towards ‘good governance’ in local governments. A two-sided poster giving a comprehensive overview of the Fano guidelines can be downloaded from the website in English, German and Slovak.
How does it work?
By clicking on a specific guideline, local government representatives have the possibility to read the respective guidance text and the recommended actions. The entire set of the Fano guidelines is downloadable as a printout version. Additionally for each of the guidelines the associated presentations given at the final conference of the DISCUS project are available on the website.
What are the benefits?
The Fano guidelines are supposed to serve local governments as a sort of backbone to conceive their locally adapted governance strategy around. The focus lies on developing capacities within administrations in order to create a basis for integrated efforts towards urban sustainable development.
